Somerset Hydroponics Growing Update

Further to our previous blog regarding the release of our new DutchPro Nutrient range; we are currently propagating small leaf basil seeds in the X-stream 20 Site Aeroponic propagator which will then be transplanted into the SureGrow4 SG70 NFT Growing System; the basil will then be fed the complete range of DutchPro Nutrients. This will be our first in-store test of this highly requested nutrient brand. We have chosen small leaf basil as our test plants due to the low, yet precise feeding requirements of the plant which will very quickly show us how well formulated the DutchPro Nutrient range is (We are expecting to see nothing but good things!) We have chosen the SureGrow4 SG70 NFT system as it is ideally suited to small/medium vigorously growing plants. We will keep you updated weekly!

New Dutch Pro Product Range

Dutch Pro are one of the pioneers of nutrient formulation in Europe, and is still the sole company & supplier from nutrients founded and based in Amsterdam 30 years ago. Dutch Pro have limited the products in the range so that the grower has everything he/she needs in the smallest amount of bottle’s as possible, and have formulated each product to have the highest concentration possible. This makes the Dutch Pro range of nutrients extremely cost effective and simple to use.

With this in mind, we have decided to stock some of their nutrients! These include but aren’t limited to Dutch Pro Explode which is a nutrient used for delivering precious nutrients to your plants and giving them a boost during the flowering stage. This solution contains micro-nutrients, vitamins, acids and it does exactly as the name suggests – explosively driving flowering growth and bigger yields in addition to increasing your plants resistance against diseases. This product is suited for every irrigation system we sell; as well as most of our soil, hydro and coco kits.

Dutch Pro Nutrients also includes the unique Auto Flowering Hydro Grow & Bloom, or Auto Flowering Soil Grow & Bloom range of plant nutrients. This nutrient range has been specifically formulated for Auto Flowering varieties of plant which have a much shorter life cycle than a general, standard flowering plant.

A little about us…

 store front 10x15  DSC00885  DSC00881

Somerset Hydroponics was established in 1999 but the idea began much earlier when product choices were few and retailers were even fewer. At the time, we recognised a need for quality Hydroponics and organic gardening products, but more importantly, an honest approach to the information to back them up.

Since 1999 we have had a retail store which has been staffed by experienced gardeners. We pride ourselves on our proven record to provide quality pre’ and after sales service. Our high level of customer service is equaled by our speed of service when you place an order with us. We hope that you soon become part of our happy community of gardeners!

We have a combined forty years plus of growing experience which covers an ever growing range of techniques and plant knowledge. Over the years we have been proud to participate in educational Hydroponic projects and to work with a division of the Royal Horticultural Society. We have advised and instructed small holding farmers on the viability of setting up hydro/organic projects, but we are better known for our trusted personal service within the domestic hobby market.

Somerset Hydroponics was established by gardeners for gardeners and as such we are committed to your needs. We hope that you find our site and blog informative and competitive for all your online shopping needs.

We value our customer’s opinions, so please feel free to make suggestions or comments about our website or business in general by emailing us at sales@somhydro.co.uk
